Hello Friends!
Thank you so much for visiting my website. I hope that you find it easy to navigate through, and a pleasure visit. I personally update the site myself. In addition, I read all of the guestbook and e-mail entries, and try to respond to as many e-mails as possible. I encourage you to check out all of the information concerning my new album, enjoy a weekly devotional written by me, and regularly view my calendar for updates on personal appearances. We believe that 2006 will be a ground-breaking year for Kevin Thornton Ministries. Thus, we solicit your prayers and support.
Also, the views and opinions of this website are based on Biblical principles. Although it is not my intention to offend anyone, I must speak the truth. But, know that I speak out of love, not hatred. My desire is to bring everyone to a closer relationship to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In doing so, I realize that I may become unfavorable to some. Nevertheless, I've chosen the straight and narrow path, and my stance is firm.
Please hear my heart. No matter what you've done, where you are today, or how bad things may seem, God loves you, and so do I. My mission is to remind you of that, and to encourage you in being the CHAMPION God has created you to be!

NEWS UPDATE: Wow! What can I say except that the Lord is good! As a matter of fact, He's amazing and worthy to be praised! I have been on the go winning souls for Christ and fighting battles. I have seen God call myriads of souls to Him by using my gift of singing, preaching, and testimony alongside Pat Day and the Racetrack Chaplaincy of America.
We recently ministered in Chicago, IL at the Arlington Park Racetrack. Hundreds of people showed up for the White Horse Festival that we put on. There were carnival games, plenty of food, and music from a Christian Latin band, a High School choir, and yours truly. As usual, we presented the gospel through Pat Day and myself, and 55 people came to Christ. Of the 55 people, 50 signed up for the ongoing discipleship program. Praise God!
GMA's: I recently had the opportunity of doing a showcase in Nashville, TN with my band for the the Gospel Music Assoiciation's annual convention. This convention is held each year during the week of the industry's Dove Awards. Several new and established acts are showcased, and it is a tremendous opportunity for several organizations to network. Despite doing what I believe was a truly blessed and powerful performance, God had commissioned me to speak a brief word of truth about the current condition of the Christian music industry. In many ways, it is no different than the secular industry in business ethics. Unfortunately it is more industry driven than ministry driven, at least behind the scenes. Therefore, Jesus had burdened me to encourage His people to honor the calling He had laid before them. Nevertheless, I was quickly reminded that even in love, the truth hurts too much for some to receive. Yet I did what DADDY had told me to do. In addition, it was wonderful having Mark Calderon (also from Color Me Badd) join me in a night of praise and worship to the Lord.
CMB REUNION: Mark Calderon, Bryan Abrams and I reunited for a celebrity gameshow called ROCK AND A HARD PLACE, hosted by Meatloaf. The show airs on Direct TV, and all of the proceeds go to a charity of choice. Once I find out the air date of our appearance, I'll post it on the website.
G.S.T.F. The Racetrack Chaplaincy's evangelism team (a.k.a. God's Secret Task Force), which consists of Director of Evangelism, Edward Smith; Interpreter, Chaplain Theodore Carreras; the RTCA's Goodwill Ambassador, Pat Day; and music minister, yours truly; were joined by RTCA president, Chaplain Waverly Parsons in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ in Vinton, LA. Our service was held at the Delta Downs racetrack, which is also connected to a casino. Thus, in the midst of gambling, we offered a much sweeter reward than the combined earnings of every slot machined played and every winning horse that was bet upon--SALVATION THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!
With approximately 50 in attendance, 11 gave their lives to Christ. Exept for one individual, those that came forward were couples ranging from the early twenties to seniors. It was truly amazing! The Holy Spirit moved in such a magnificent way!
For me, the highlight of the evening came when a twenty year old young man of Latin descent requested to speak before we closed. With trembling in his body and tears flowing down his face, he professed these words which summarizes the Spirit behind what we do. He said:
"Normally I am too shy to speak in front of people, and to speak to people, but tonight I don't care! Tonight God spoke to my heart, and He changed my life! I want to pray for everyone here to let Jesus change their lives. I pray for my wife, the workers, the jockeys, and everyone."
Seeing this young man boldly profess Christ blessed me so much that I wept tears of joy. He did not care how people perceived him, what they thought about him, or even how they might treat him later. All he knew was that he had a personal encounter with the resurrected Christ, and he was not going to be ashamed to tell the world about it.
Friends, this is ministry at its best! This is God's work at its finest! This is meeting people where they are, right in the middle of Satan's playground, and simply sharing God's love and His gift of salvation for all! Blessed be His Holy name!
*Please pray that God continues to open doors for us to minister to the lost. Please pray God's protection and provision for our families and the lives God touches through us. Also lift up those who have chosen to wait.
